Regarding the number of holes....My C8 also has 6 holes in the rear cab wall and I came to the same conclusion as you did. Both extinguisher brackets I bought online have 5 holes.....My conclusion is that it might have to do with the release mechanism.....my examples have the spring loaded thingy holding the top, but I have also seen them with an extra band/quick release thingy about 2/3 thirds along the extinguisher. Maybe that's the type using 6 mounting holes???? Alex

Hi Alex
Thanks for confriming that I as well have both sping loaded, with band 2/3 up and a with clamp that goes over the pump handle, and these are all 5 hole versions. From looking on google it seems that US vehicles had different types of 6 hole brackets. I wonder which type is the moste correct for a CMP?

Niels.
Either style of bracket is perfectly acceptable for your CMP. The key is the cup shaped base that holds the nozzle end of the extinguisher. There are even more varitations in the brass extinguisher. This cup disappeared in post war brackets that were either flat folded sheet steel with a spring clip, or a bent wire rod style bracket with a spring clip. These extinguishers in themselves could fill ones living room if you wanted to make a collection out of them! Have fun with your CGT! David |

Niels,
I was just looking in the parts list this morning and found under extinguisher, that all types (C8, C15 etc. CGT) use 6 round head slotted screws for fastening. So, I guess you (and I) have to look for a different bracket.....or as David says....just go for the 5 hole version .....and maybe drill two extra holes in the bracket. Alex

Here is my Second CGT that I bought last year, also from Norway, it took about 15 min for me to decided to buy it, even though it was some 2500km from where I live and 350 km north of the arctic circle, but it turned out that the shipping to Denmark was actually pretty cheap.
It was restored from bad condition back in the late eighties, by three young guys, using what they could find of original parts and the rest they made. They restored it to their best effort but in the time before internet and MLU forum, they didn't have access to the same amount of reference material and parts as now, so I have adding/replacing parts on it, and are still missing some things, slowly but surely its getting there, I hope to be adding the roof vent hatch's and spare wheel clamp later this summer. and then at some point a repaint..... its a bit to frog green for my taste.
