As little as I can get away with, I am a skinflint like anyone else.

I usually pay around $40 tops

Default Warm welcome

Ha Brunno, such a warm welcome.
Am I the only one who thinks this sort of negative public feedback is discouraging to anyone else who considering posting an item for sale?

No Michael you are not alone. "Poor form" as the Brits would say.

I think that valuations from the gallery should be in the form of a PM to the original poster, or else let the market decide if the price is out of whack.

My apologies for adding my opinion.
I do plenty of vending and all too often customers are quick to tell me when they think my pricing is out of line, in public, with no regards to who hears it.
They don't take me aside and whisper in my ear...
I don't really see this as being any different.
I suppose being frank and honest on a public forum, which is incidently run for/by collectors who have good knowledge
is unacceptable.
Thats the trouble these days, too many people who beat around the bush too worried about being PC for fear of offending someone.

Agreed.

Along with this hobby, I also collect wrist watches, records and vintage razors among other things. All of those respective special interest forums discourage public price shaming, to the extent that some even disable replying to For Sale adds. Although i've likely done it myself at some point along the way, I certainly wouldn't in the future unless I spotted a full on scam.

If someone has enough technology and wherewithal to navigate to this website, they should have the ability to comparison shop on google prior to plunking down cash.
