Logging Chains.....
I have seen similar chain on logging tractors ... we call them skidders.
Some have a protruding 8 or 10 inch ring others have these pads....... could have been some old style chain from the late 1950s...... always beleived they were made that way to withstand the erosive wear on the chains in semi-rocky or gravelly ground or even short runs on paved roads. Must be someone in logging country on Canada that can shed more light on these chains...... Bob C.
