Default I spotted what I believe to be...

an incomplete D-Day+ ,allied recognition star on a FAT in a episode of the Canadian Newsreels series, and I liked it. Something different anyway. Thanks and cheers Rob

I've seen it in the windshield of many shots of the landings at the toe of Italy and can find no record of what it was for.
