For posterity, I will mention that the bracket is a Canadian Bracket and was installed on just about every Canadian SMP vehicle, both A and B type, from the late 50s until the late 80s. They came standard on the 5/4 tons and the MLVWs. They were available singly or as part of a retro fit kit for the jeeps, in which case they came with the FN brackets as well.
Even after the SMG left, we used to keep the brackets around as they made a good flashlight holder. I little long for the standard green right angle flashlight, but perfect for the old 3 and 4 cell maglite (aka: club). |
