Has anyone put a gasket between the floor and the exhaust elbows?

I don't bother. They were there originally, but I cannot see them serving any purpose.

Hi Rob, I was just wondering if it might reduce the local heat in the floor there. Thank you for your input all the same.

I suppose it could stop the floor from warping with the heat, which might cause the pipes to bind a little at the flex joint. But the engineers who designed it had things like desert use on their minds. The worst I'll do is a short run on a 30° day.
