|  As you say Jim, the coating scrapes off the stone tops, 
			
			and is quickly re-coated by traffic. I had the museum carrier at home 2 years ago, and can still see track marks on the concrete surface of the driveway where I reversed up to the shed! No skid turns or anything! I think the lack of traffic is the key element (1 to 2 cars per day versus hundreds or more per day on a public road) Point of all this? be wary driving over ornamental surfaces that don't carry traffic. Concrete or clay pavers are easily chipped on their edges by the tracks. I have chipped kerbs too, climbing over the edge, and they stay visible for a long time! If it rains while you are parked, it can quickly rust stain the concrete as well. At the end of the day, just enjoy the moment!  Rob |
