Around the time this building was declared surplus, the L&W Regt. also closed detachments/Companies in Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Welland, Niagara on the Lake and Grimsby. Interestingly, the Regiment recently moved a company to Welland.
FYI, The 10th Battery of the 56th Field Artillery Regiment was the last unit to vacate the Victoria Street Armoury, not the Lincoln & Welland Regiment.
