Were they used by the spotters on isolated island reporting on Japanese shipping????

The coast watchers usually used the AWA 3B set . A whole team of native carriers was needed to move the 3B around, light it was not .

The Australian service roughly equivalent to the SOE was the Services Reconnaissance Dept. (SRD) These guys did the raid on Singapore harbour
