Many vendors list the footman loops by the size strap they are intended to work with. My first guess is that you are looking at 1-1/2". Some vendors also offer a black finish. There are loops available made of many materials including "white metal", steel, brass, plastic and stainless steel. Costs vary with material and I think there is a parallel to Chevrolet parts where if the part fits a Corvette as well as a garden variety Chevrolet - the price goes up. In this case Jeep footman loops seem more expensive than similar generic industrial supply ones. If you can find "close, but not perfect" match, consider replacing the originals as well as the missing ones and keeping the originals as samples to compare as the search continues for "perfect match".
Here's a Canadian source (located Barrie, no experience with them). http://www.outdoorfabricscanada.com/...-_p_2042.html# And from the US: http://www.mcmaster.com/#footman's-loops/=1307cdd but won't sell to Canada or people using Canadian credit card. https://www.beachwoodcanvas.com/order/productlist.cfm http://www.debellajeepparts.com/mbgpwBody.htm http://www.strapworks.com/ProductDet...Code=167MFL112 http://www.armysurpluswarehouse.com/...-dozen-od.html showing out of stock |

Thanks for some ideas. These are for my CMP. They appear to be cast or forged.

Meandering off Jordan's search, but I have seen two styles on carriers: cast and formed from small roundstock (or is it wirestock?). The ones made from roundstock are easy to replicate and cannot be differentiated from the originals.

That was my thinking, get the wire stock size and rig up a simple former in the press. Even if the wire needs heating first. Can be kept in its full length and pushed through the press/former in one length and cut off at the end!

I used heat, a suitable size of long bolt for the hole size, and heat. Worked out very well. I couldn't tell you which ones are original and which ones I fabricated on my carrier.

Jordan: the critical measurement is the centre- to-centre spacing of the holes. It looks like 2 -5/8" in your case. Perhaps you can comfirm: may have a few in stock. .. Brian

Try your local Marine Chandlers, they should have the size you need and stainless so no rust.
