Default Ambulance Body pics

Well I was surfing Kijiji tonight and tripped across a Dodge Ambulance Body for sale in NS!

No I don't want it, and no connection etc. But I thought the pics were great as they are the ony ones I've seen of the rear showing the bumper and closed doors.

Default fuzzy photo from a 110 camera

Found this photo in some pictures my brother had saved.

Note the tarp framework and seats, the big Mobile Command decal, factory paint and the chrome grill. Circa 1976 or 1977.

In reference to the picture Terry posted up, I recall there being a directive that when we transported troops in these trucks, the sides of the tarps were to be rolled up due to issues of exhaust being drawn into the cargo area. I don't remember what the fix was, but it was likely the Chev 5/4T...
I'll have to search through my shoeboxes of photos and see what I have of these Dodges. I do recall that the fit and finish in the cab were not great and the dash padding would come loose. Typical of stuff from that era.

Thanks everyone for the pics that are awesome!

Well I was finally able to strike a deal for the dodge!

Over the past few weeks I worked a freeing up the rear brakes and jacking it up out of the old horse paddock where it had sunk in to the diffs. Once it was up on boards I wasnt too worried about winching it up the hill behind the farmhouse.

I had to winch and pull with my truck but the old Dodge finally made it up to the laneway where we loaded it on my trailer. It was a very wet evening and everything was very muddy and sopping wet. A final surprise was the original tailgate for the truck complete with footman loops still attached that the farmer had stored in the hay barn!

The next morning the first stop with the truck was the city dump where we unloaded 500lbs of wet and semi frozen sand, leaves, and branches from the bet of the truck.

To my surprise the bed was really solid underneath all thar but just a bit bent and scaly.

A closer look at the truck shows it still has the hinges for the troop seats and seat belt loops in the bed!

One question that has been bugging me is the trailer receptive on the truck. It is SMP style but the truck is -12V. DI'd the use a converter for the trailers or would the 24v bulbs work enough to use them?
