Lionel the metal curbed piece and the mesh are part of the vehicles "canvas tilt" and not part of the rear body.

Most GS trucks did not have the mesh but stores trucks plus a few medical trucks did.

Canvas tilt is curbed pipe frame with the curved metal sides and a metal strip along the top centre.

That's a 'binned stores body'. The register says its a GMC ..see the long badge on the bonnet side ? It had a conversion 1944
