Good show Robin
I saw the ad on Kijiji. I thought you might be in play for it. Looks like a great machine. Even the panniers are there.

Thanks for the comments, I am very ahppy after letting myself get burned last year on the wanna be KLR.
Yes very complete and the former owner has sent loads of information with it and there are spares included as well. I emailed with a friend who is former PPCLI and a generally knowledgeable bloke and he explained this:- "Callsign 91 is applied to different entities depending on the level (Formation/HQ/Manoeuvre Unit/Sub-unit etc.) In the context of a unit in this case 1st, 2nd or 3rd Bn PPCLI, C/S 91 would be applied to the Signals Platoon. 91 Signals Officer, 91 A, B are for Remote Rebroadcasting Sites/Dets for example. 91S was Signals Stores. See below, it changes over time so the date the kit was in use will change the context. For example 91R used to be Signals Repair, it has morphed into sub callsigns for each LCIS tech in that section. If we are talking the 90s it is safe to say it was a Sigs platoon rover/liaison/delivery platform. CO 9 COs LUVW 9A Sig O 91 TSM/FC 91A Crypto DA/FC 91B Helpdesk 91C Lineman 91L Lineman 91L1 LCIS Tech 91R LCIS Tech 91R1 LCIS Tech 91R2 Sig Stores 91S If anyone can shed any more light I am interested to know more

This is the first KLR I bought like 9-10 years ago. (Sold it...but found another one last summer). The first one came from Valcartier. It was used by the MP and had a number of markings on it. On the front of the mudguard, was a nato vehicle i.d.
(Not sure what you call it in english...) The bike I bought last summer had its paint redone (in a professional paint-shop) and also had its engine rebuilt. After a good tune-up, it actually runs like new. From what I can find, there appears to be no "standard markings" for those little bikes. I chose to use the same pattern for my 1RCR bike as for the MP's bike. BTW...I tried to contact the 1RCR museum for some help, but no answer. I also renewed the straps that keep the panniers closed. My idea was to simply replace them with new olive color straps, but I noticed that the straps were originally black and had simply faded under the sun. I restored the color using some fabric dye. Same for the tool bag that goes on the mudguard. I still need to find a tool-kit... Eric

Hello all,
I need a little help here: I realised that the front of the B.O. drive on my KLR was some kind of ''home-made'' painted resin cover. So in order to fix it (by making a new cover) i need someone to show me a close picture of his own KLR b.o. drive. I know this the best place to get that picture! Thank you, Eric

I have a spare black out light.
Shall I bring it to Waterloo Khaki?

I have no idea if I'll be in Waterloo...But I'm a machinist and for now if I can simply see closely what exactly the cover looks like, I can easily make a replica.
This is what the previous owner made. Let's call it a "nice try" but I'm not going anywhere with that! Thanks for your kind offer anyway. Maybe we'll meet in Waterloo. Where are you from? Ho I just saw: Kingston. Not that far!
