Perplexed they well might have been.

If they were trying to isolate an electrical fault, where do you start with a vehicle with three batteries, one being right under the passenger side joyfully scooping up all sorts of road debris and causing all sorts of merry hell. Triple hell if it was in-line with the other two (I don't know if that is the case).
