You will get a lot further than 40kms on a tank of fuel. If the tank is full, I would suggest you will be fine.

If it is a chevy, you should already have a towrope attached to the front bumper. |

If I recall, the average consumption of petrol was approx. 8 miles to the gallon. You metric buggers figure that out for yourself....I refuse to change! So it depends on a number of things, but we need not get into details. As Terry says, keep an extra Jerry Can of Premium in the back....or if you get a chance to stop along the way...just top up. You'll get the hang of it and you will get some idea of how much petrol your going through.

AND as for the Unwashed Ford Heathens of Shilo Manitoba....spare the tow rope. Robert

My C15A needs refuelling every 120 Km's. I am running on low profile tyres so spend most of my time in top gear.

The third edition Chevy hand book states 12 1/4 gallons in each tank on all models, with 9 1/2 quarts in the reserve (included in 12 1/4 gal) of the early models.

At 8 miles to the gallon, that's 96 miles or about 150 km on a tank. (on road?) Robert's 120km advice is probably as good as it gets. Same info in the third edition of the Ford Special Pattern Vehicles. In the interest of harmony during war, Ford tactfully refrained from mentioning the tow rope. A MkI U.C. tank holds 11 gallons

Donald Trump-----tact CMP collector-----restraint Ford-------tow rope (not on the front, anyway) Mojave desert-----snowstorm. I think you guys get the picture.....things that do not naturally go together. Forgot to mention.....had a warning order a week or two ago that the funeral gun may be needed. After some minor work on the chevy gun tractor, and replacing the tires on the limber, I hooked the three up together and headed out the shop for a quick road test. Two blocks later, do you want to guess what happened? I blame a high pick up tube in the one good tank. |

You're right. Leave the Chev by the side of the road and drive on, and hope no-one reports you for littering.
