The track adjuster wheel rubber profile can be observed visually, you will see it appears "lower" than the standard bogie wheel. The "higher" rubber profile on the standard 94x3 Canadian bogie wheel is obvious on a side by side comparison. Look also for the markings such as CTL 94 x 3 and CTL 17 x 3.

Wheels and tires should be should be considered as two components. This is because production changes were not concurrent. Ideally you are looking for the latest production, marked C.T.L. 94 x 3 on both components, i.e wheel and rim.

Why? Two reasons:

1) Early "wheel spoke diameter was increased to overcome spoke breakage which occurred with the first type wheel under severe operating conditions."

2)"The rubber in the tires was also modified to overcome blow-out . . ."

Instructions were issued directing that: "first type bogie wheels were not to be perpetuated by re-tiring."

Note: "RE-tiring of the original design bogie wheels with 19" tires for use as track adjusting wheels (CTL 17 x 3) is considered satisfactory practise."

You are likely aware the track adjuster wheel mounts on a spindle using different inside and outside inner diameter bearings. This is unlike the bogie wheels that use two bearings with the identical inner diameter. Those differences also require the application of different related components. See your parts manual illustrations and note the different applications for the following part numbers: TL 18, TL 19, CTL 20B, CTL 21, CTL 22, TL 23, TL24, CTL 25, TL 95, CTL 334, C01UC 100300, C01UC 100301, CTL 1798.

Thanks Michael for your complete answer, I have to renew the rubber (Rubber coating) on all wheels, I noticed from picture slight difference on the wheel, now I see one inch difference on rubber , I found someone can do the Rubber coating.

You are welcome.

You may find the tire portion on the 19 inch track adjuster wheel is set deeper inside the wheel as compared to the CTL 94x3 20 inch bogie wheel. There is some documentation to suggest this allows the track horns to bear against the more exposed steel rim of the track adjuster wheel during the track warping operation. Nigel Watson makes a brief reference to this in Volume I of his work in Universal Carriers.

long time since my last updates, I ordered from ebay a kit Engine Bisquits "Flathead Ford " Motor Mounts Universal 1932 34 36 37 39 40 Ford.

Hi Israel, although they are not "proper" I put there metric bolts, I think M10x25 would be fine.

would need to check manual but my guess would be either 5/16 bsf or 3/8 bsf
