Well, it is 0700 on the last day of the year in Brisbane.

Just drove the GPW to the shops. It is a bit overcast. Temperature is currently 26C predicted to be 30C then falling to 25C at midnight.

I thought of you northerners yesterday while we were water skiing on Sommerset Dam with the kids.

Default BEAST started on New Years Day 2013

Hi All

Well BEAST started this morning, I waited till about 10AM, with temperatures up from -8F/-22C over night and windchill that was just plain ridiculous. Inside BEAST's winter den it was 10 F the recording thermometer said it had't been any warmer or colder since I drove it last.

Video is a little longer than necessary but the batteries on both cameras died before the ride was over.

So I hope this is the start of a good CMP driving year.

Cheers and Best Wishes

Best Wishes for the new year, Phil!

I really like your initiative of the new years Challenge and really enjoyed the video. I will try to do my part for a next new Years challenge when my project is done.

Alex

I planned on taking the jeep for a spin today. But it didn't happen. 2017 ended with a house fire and 2018 started with two.

Default ????? question for Phil....

Is using Utube the only way to attach a video to the Forum???

Got some good shot of Rob's M37.....upside down........ will paint a white UP arrow on my cell phone for future use.

What software package are you using for your videos????

Were you wearing you GoPro camera on your forehead????

Cheers

Default Posting Video

Hi Bob

I've done some searching on the vBulletin web site and user forum and we are not the only users of this software/platform unable to embed video even with later versions.

As getting to Rob to stop driving upside down, there is an ap for that.

Putting a big broad arrow on your phone would be appropriate.

I use the gopro software to edit videos and you can import non gopro video into it to edit. one that bend you can correct the upside-down video issue, along correct slight off angle shots.

Yes for this video was using the head strap with camera middle of forehead.

I've got to get new batteries for the gopro, even freshly charged it ran out in the cold in less than an hour.

Cheers Phil

Youtube also has a rudimentary video editor which can be found somewhere on your dashboard when you login. It allows you to cut and combine clips, add text or sound/music, but it also has an option to rotate the orientation of the video.
It starts to get really complicated when you found out halfway the filming that you are filming upside down and decide to correct that while filming.....that means you would have to split the recording and rotate the view on one piece of the clip and than re-attach the clips again!

Alex

p.s. Bob.....I bet you thought that rotating the camera to Australian view, meant you would also benefit from the warmer OZ weather
