Makes sense. Goes with the CF issued padded wine bottle carrier.

Terry,
I have an identical bag but missing the two webbing straps. Could you let me have the measurements, length and width of each and a picture of how the ends are secured to the bag by the five rivets, is it one length of webbing folded over at one side of the bag or two separate pieces? Many thanks Mike Gurr

Yes. Will do. Give me a couple of days.
Here is another shot I didn't post. But not much help.

Jim Burrill is currently in the process of having these bren boxes with inserts reproduced. He will have a working copy soon, this is coming from the same supplier as our Pixie suits and Denim tank suits, you can ping him for more info.

I have four different types of the Bren mag bag, two leather styles, one the same as posted here and a canvas one.
The leather style ones are faitly common to find at trade fairs and eBay over here in the UK. Kevin

The main strap is one piece , with a short loop 26 1/2" extremity to extremity. The long loop is 53 1/2". The straps are riveted with 5 nonferrous pins. The heads are flush inside and capture washers on the outside. One end is folded and riveted, the other end is triple-layer with the tails trapped.
The third picture is just a tape shown for reference. The tape is just laying there arbitrarily.

More detailed shots, this time of the closure. This strapping is narrower than the shoulder and hand strap. These fittings are magnetic.
