Mike,
Thanks. I visited a friend's collection and discovered that both the Ford and Chevrolet CMP trucks use the same stiffeners. Now to find/fabricate some for my storage bin. Peter IMG_1098.jpg |

Hi Peter,
I thought it was probably common to both manufacturers of CDN built CMPs, but was only 100% sure of the Ford, hence my comment (I once owned a CDN built F15 cab 13 and an F60L cab 12). At least you can get the profile details easily now - you just need a local version of Colin Jones to whip a few lengths out for you in no time flat! Lovely job you are doing on your Lynx. Mike |

Just out of interest, the little stiffener dimensions are 1&1/2" wide x 5/8" high and 3/8" dia. internal pressing, Cheers Andrew.

Andrew,
Thank you ! The dimensions are different than the stiffeners used in the lower cabs. I shudder at the thought of trying to gather the required information to restore an old vehicle such as the Lynx without the support of people such as yourself, the MLU forum, and the internet. Could I trouble you for one more set of measurements? The reinforcing patch that goes over the latch area? Thanks again, Peter |

Peter, I am missing the centre piece extension, but on the main lid there is no evidence of reinforcing? , but I do note the pictures of Rick's Lid post 563 and the second and 3rd pic in post 561 that shows a reinforcement, the lid I showed was also from a MK1, Cheers Andrew

Guys,
My fabricator, Andy, was able to faithfully replicate the bullet splash shield surrounds, forge a set of hinges and mount the cast fuel filler covers. I'm biased, but it certainly looks good. Thanks to MLU members from Australia, Canada, England and New Zealand I now think I have enough information to create the drawings to fabricate the front storage bin. Just to double check everything I've decided to assemble a wooden version to test the dimensions and fit. Don't want to get ahead of myself, but I'm getting closer to paint. Guys,
More small stuff. I suppose this entire restoration consists of a series of small steps. Had the new document holder and WS 19 spare parts holder welded in place. Slowly filling up. Peter IMG_1138.jpg IMG_1137.jpg |
