That's a fair question. In doing my research before purchasing the trailer, I've seen the trend where folks mixed them up. The ID Plate definitely identifies this as the M101CDN2.

The USGI name is M416. Squared fenders and large D-ring handles on the corners are the giveaway.

There is a FB group for M416 owners and converters. These guys like adding jerry can holders, tool boxes, roof racks and fold-out camping tents on their trailers.

While the fenders are either the same or almost the same as the US M416, the solid handles along with the square top re-inforcement are the giveaways that it is a Canadian M101CDN2. Add to that the Iltis wheels and the light civilian hubs and bearings, and you quickly find that ordering M416 parts will only get you so far.

Towards the end of the service life of the M100 trailers, the supply system started sending us M416 parts (axles and fenders come to mind). Both required some adapting to use. The 416 axle was a little wider than the M100 if I recall correctly.
