Default Thanks Ed

Thanks for the quick reply
I'm hoping for a quick refresh on this one
Get it back on the road with most of its scars and dents intact
Find some seats first
Anthony

Your hunt for seat frames and cushions will be a tough one out here in the west. It is hard to find a jeep that is scrapped that did not have somebody try and "improve" the originals by cutting the frames and sticking in an old pair of buckets from a datsun or other scrapped car. As such, your either looking at repros out of the US, or finding something in the East where the Jeeps do eventually disintegrate. The repros are not cheap. There are repro bows out there, but they are generally too long to ship. You might be able to have them cut in half for shipping and weld them back together once in the barn.

If you come out to Shilo and pay me a visit, I can likely help you out on a lot of the small stuff like the wiper blades, a left fender in better shape, and a host of other smalls. It seems to me there is at least one seat frame left out at my favorite scrapyard another hour past me, but you will need a guide to find them.

It does show lots of potential, good luck with it.

Anthony....if this helps, I will be heading out to Calgary in the next couple of weeks with and empty covered pickup truck from Vancouver If you can find anything out in BC, I'll gladly drop in it off in Calgary for you. At least that's part way there. Same goes for you Rob....as I know how much you just "LOVE" the drive from Calgary to Vancouver! Robert

Being a prairie flatlander, I would be afraid of either falling off one of those mountains, or else getting nosebleeds by being that un-naturally high from mother earth. Mountains kill many many people every year.

For the alternator not charging, make sure you have full battery power on the large 8 gauge wire, and the smaller wire should have power when the ignition switch is turned on. If the alternator is still not charging, you can remove an allen key plug towards the back of the alternator, and with a small electrical screwdriver, turn the rheostat to increase the voltage.

Re the engine not shutting off, the usual cause of that is that the field wire from the alternator is feeding power back to the distributor. That is another sign the alternator may be pooched.
