Thanks Jordan, that is exactly the tool box I mean.

Thank you for going to the trouble of running the tape over it.

Mike

Default Opinions on Tool Box?

Thoughts on this tool box? It is of similar appearance to other CMP tool boxes I've seen, but the construction is slightly different. The overall dimensions are as follows:

Length: 16-3/4"
Depth: 6-3/4"
Height: 7-1/4"

It has the same small fixed tray inside, albeit rivet fixed rather than spot welded. The paint finish appears to be Khaki Green No.3. A quick inspection didn't show any markings/stampings. There is a spark plug tin inside that looks identical to the CMP type. The last photo show some of the tools that were inside the box; the three short "L" handles are of brass/bronze construction.

More photos of the other enclosed tools to follow.....

Default More Tools

Here's the other tools that came with the box. Not sure what the curved piece of steel in the last photo is for.

The vendor said that the garage this tool box came out of used to have an AEC Matador truck, and the box may have come from that vehicle. Not sure about that. For me, the tool box is close enough in appearance to the CMP ones to sit very nicely with my C15...eventually. Any thoughts or opinions would be welcome.

Thanks,
Owen.

Hi Owen,
Must say I'm a bit jealous of your find. Try some of the sockets and see if they fit. I'd toss it in your Blitz look close enough period wise not to matter

And that's a question that has often puzzled me, "Where was the Toolbox stowed?", as well as the other numerous items in the picture Hanno posted in post #20.

On many of the CMP bodies, there weren't lockers or compartments to store items, everything would have to be carried within the cab, loose!

Darren,
To add to your envious green complexion, out of the blue I picked up the "bulbs and fuses" tin last weekend. Unexpected finds are always the best type!

Owen.
