Phil. Would a Fish Scale help?
Take a good spring, fasten one end to a fixed point and the other to the scale. Extend the spring a given distance and measure the pounds required to do so. Then compare the other springs, extending them the same distance. You should get different readings if those springs are harder or softer than the one that is your bench mark. David |
