Many thanks to you all! The versions I have seen have the message on two lines underneath the CAUTION line, but I am pretty sure that the wording you have given (Wind, not Mind) is correct. It matches what I can see in blurred form on my pics. Now to find letters small enough for 1/76!

I agree 100% with the lettering in Owen's photo being:
"- caution - wind winch cable under load" But I read his question as being whether those restoring the photo FAT have correctly painted the sign based on period photos/documents. I have no useful input on that. |
