Personally, I don't think these grills look that bad, and they were certainly better than having to change radiators every time the operators decided to push a little bush. There was another modification for a full metal guard that mounted on the front bumper. Now that was ugleeee.

Hey Terry
The second photo looks familiar. Rob is it possible to get the CFTO for the grill? Thanks Eric

And here are some snippets from mod CF19, which was for a very ugly full size grill. Most of the Shilo M151A2s had this one. They tended to cause damage to the fenders when they got pushed back from pushing bush.

Eric, I should hope that one looked familiar. And, as always Rob's library and generosity knows no bounds.

I suspect that the 09744 truck shown was the LETE truck. Note the mirrors were mounted to the fenders, however with only one arm. The eventual modification used two arms. I found those rattled so bad you couldn't use the mirrors, so I would add a third arm. Any farmer will tell you you always need three points of contact for stability. Personally, I always liked the mirrors by the windshield.

I can confirm that M151A2 09744 was a LETE vehicle, it was disposed of in May 1989. It may be this vehicle which I photographed on display in the Carp Diefenbunker Museum in October 2015.
