Photo will not happen, done this a load of times but this one will not upload. I run my choke cable along the flexi air inlet tube going into the carbi, it sits on a bracket bolted to the floor but I never used it as our temp is warm year round,

Thanks for trying Paul, mine had the same modification, I am glad that someone else has picture posting problems too.

I am glad to report that after a frustrating day chasing different problems, the old girl coughed back into life at 7:30pm. She sounds lovely and quite and the oil pressure is perfect.

Happy New Year Jonathan and yes computers where made at the same time as hammers but we didn't know what hammers were for so we bashed nails into wood with them. Your engine problems will start now, oil leaks are the issue I have with the oil filler tube a pain at the moment. I am thinking of putting a rubber bung in the filler tube as it spews oil out, I am on top of the other leaks but because the tube isn't round the o" ring I have on the filler cap doesn't stop the oil coming out.
All the best
Paul

Is your vehicle a c8, mine has a round filler tube. Having lived with old Land Rovers all my life, I am used to oil leaks but if the traditional methods don't suffice, a thin smear of silicon on either face usually cures the problem.

Thanks Jonathon yes mine is a round filler cap and tube but it's not perfectly round so the "O" ring doesn't seal properly, I made a flat rubber seal and will see how that goes. Another idea is a rubber bung down the tube with a piece of wire or chain to get it out, won't go down into the engine because of the flap at the bottom.

Silly question time Paul, is the oil leaking around the base of the filler tube or from around the filler cap at the top of the tube?
