Hi Jacques it looks very much like a pump that would go on my Morris C8 GS, I have half of the pump so will photo that half tomorrow and let you know. Looks good though.

Hi Jacques
I think these pumps were ubiquitous and were fitted to various British trucks. I have one from a Morris CS8 . If you don't have a use for it .... hint hint

Hi Paul and Mike,
Thanks guys for your identification of the pump. I guess I better give Paul first offer since he was first in line. If you can use it it's yours for the postage. Heavy sucker it is though so may cost a bit! If Paul doesn't want it its yours Mike. Same deal postage or pickup. Cheers,

Just to add:
The pump turns over freely but I noticed I could not fully disengage it- gear to rear of pump position. Seems the spring mechanism at the selector fork only allowed it to move slightly back and forth on the pump crank gear and not fully rearward and off it. I removed the spring and it slides smoothly off the crank gear. It may need attention at the selector shaft and fork. It is not good idea to drive a vehicle with a transmission pump still in gear! Cheers,

I know the Austin K5 4x4 had that pump fitted because I had a K5 drivers handbook, I passed the handbook onto a K5 owner in the UK.

Certainly the pump and mounting were a standard British item but I think that the gears were specific to the truck it was mounted to. The PTO flange mount on gearboxes was standardized but I am doubtful if that included the gear inside the gearbox that the PTO meshed with.

Yes that's true plus depends on where the pump mount is , it might be on either the LH or RH side of the gearbox

Hi Robert,
Thanks for that info. It obviously doesn't have to move too far to disengage from the transmission gear. I reckon the gear only moved slightly more than the width of the gear but that would be enough. Paul, on that basis you have even less to do when you receive it. Just put the spring back into position on the selector fork. I've already packed it up otherwise I would do it for you. Cheers,
