It looks like one of the many variations of a 1953 Mac Co (McGrath Trailers) Australian medium 2wh trailer. Different versions have the chassis channel facing outwards or inwards, but all are rated at 1 ton.
See bottom portion of THIS THREAD Although the hitch has been changed for something more convenient to tow around the farm (Hey, pintle hooks are the most convenient things going!), this still looks to be a sound original base. Hang on to it! Nice to see another around. The tyre size (as with many McGrath trailers) was 7.50-18, an unusual size today for road tread, but still available for tractors and implements. |

Thanks Tony,
I have saved those photos Recently I have been out to the old farm to collect some 18' tyres off my Chamberlain ploughs to find they are gone, and the ploughs flat in the dirt. Some one didn't want to buy new ones so helped them selves to mine I needed those tyres for that compressor trailer I found some others that might hold 20 lbs of air However, I forgot to look to see if the corners for this trailer were still there I have been given some pintle loops recently, so I suppose I should get back around to restoring the hitch section Almost finished relocating my goodies from "The park" But I am having a big sort around in the real shed to fit in a big antique drill press that I was given from a good friend's estate by his grandson I also have been "requisioned" to go back to work occasionally, I have to wonder why someone else can't do it Anyway the money will come in handy, so I can work on the blitzes cheers |
