In Australia, serving DUKWs were also as used rescue vehicles in the Maitland floods of 1949 and 1955. Not just DUKWs, LVT Buffalos too. |

Not amphibious, but there is a fellow in Gatineau, Quebec who ran his MLVW as a rugged high clearance transporter for sandbags. The rivers are high and rising, with the peak still a couple days away. I suspect any sandbags he hauled are on the bottom layers several feet underwater now.
