Hi all,

"Does the DT has 9.00x20 tyres?"
Well, yes and no.
As far as I know, all the common models (968/969/970/972) were thus shod ex-factory. But, there is speculation that they may have been originally designed for 10.00 or 11.00 tyres. Evidence the volumous mudguards and axle spacings. One model, built on a 970A chassis clearly shows much larger tyres, 11.00 maybe.
Sam (UK) successfully runs 11.00s on his 969.
The thought is that they were under-shod to enable the towing of the 8 ton engineers trailer.

If anyone has hard evidence, I would be VERY interested!

See my thread on "the G", I am kw573.

Sam, downunder.
