I think that he was very lucky the front idler spindles did not snap off. That's a very hard landing with no suspension!

As for the rear mudguard extensions, would the bottom edge of the vertical differential cover have caught before the extensions? The mudguard extensions on the MK-II* are exceptionally heavy gauge.
