ROYAL NAVY GETS PORT OF ROME GOING AGAIN. 14 AND 15 JUNE 1944, CIVITAVECCHIA. 96 HOURS AFTER THEIR ARRIVAL AT THE WRECKED PORT OF CIVITAVECCHIA, 40 MILES NORTH-WEST OF ROME, THE OFFICERS OF THE PORT CLEARANCE PARTY WERE GUIDING IN A FLEET OF ALLIED LANDING CRAFT PAST 46 WRECKS IN THE HARBOUR.

Object description
A general view of one of the yards at Civitavecchia which was cleared of rubble and usable within 96 hours. LCT's can be seen discharging supplies.
