There was a UK equivalent for testing/maintaining radio kit in the 'Z wagons'.

This was the Westalite "Battery Superseder", an incredibly heavy lump (minimum 2-man lift) that delivered 12 or 24 volts (switchable) from AC mains input and was intended for testing most of the vehicle-borne Larkspur range of radios.

I assume it delivered enough current to test the WS52 (and possibly even the C13HP), so we're looking at up to 50 amps at 24 volts.

I can't find a specification, but having seen one it's around 19-inches square (rackmountable) and around 2 to 3 feet high.
