Your mentioning of the Armstrong Dissapearing gun, reminds me of when I was doing a lot of work for the Royal Artillery Museum in Woolwich. They recieved the very decayed remains of one of these, from, I believe, Singapore. On my visit to North Head, they have one in position so that I could then appreciate its workings.
