Default F60S '42 Cab 13 Derrick body spare carrier?

Just wondering where my spare should be? Have the big winch in the bed and anchors for the derrick. Bed fits against the cab. Dave

Hi Dave,

In your type of truck the spare sits in a bracket in the RH front of the body.

Looks like a Ford one for 30cwt and 60cwt trucks.

Dave, I believe if it had a spare it would be positioned inside the rear body; against the left or right hand side wall, near the front.

Sorry Hanno...I hadn't noticed we were wirint a reply at the same time!

Dave....I have had another look at the position of the spare wheel; so far I have found the Dutch post-war picture I posted is the only exception to the rule, with the spare wheel carrier positioned in the left front of the body......all others show it on the right hand side. Have a search here on the forum, RichCam posted some pictures of a Derrick truck with the spare wheel carrier, and I believe Barry also posted pics of another example.

Alex
