The Canadian one, shown in two pieces in Andrew's post above was also used as an interior light in Ram tanks. I have had new, un-issued ones that were black all over. I suspect that they were used in other Canadian vehicles too.

The Canadian one was also used in the Otter.

For a similar lamp to the Canadian one, use a dash lamp from an early Oliver tractor. Close enough to do the job when you don't have an original.

The Oliver tractor one is a pretty good substitute. I bought one to use for a hood on a previous project. Fit perfectly.

This was the one in the Otter. Note the Otter part number stamped into the mounting bracket. Although the lamp was broken and the hood was crushed, being brass it was quite easy to anneal and get back into shape.

Mine is the same as Jordan’s, untouched so to speak and was black in its native colour.

Nice post Andrew. Certainly answers the questions posed on the for sale thread

Default Note the Bulb

I acquired this gem years ago at a gun show. I knew what is was, so did the seller and I needed one.

Not cheap then but today unobtainium.

Thoughts on the bulb. It appears to be original.
