Info needed: Backing plate for CDLV 242/505 "lifting rings"

I take the liberty to quote from a Canadian Jeep FB Group:

"It make sense to have such backing plate to make it more solid but if there where two parts it should have a part number and I have not found any info on this in the manuals.
A-5061 is one part number but was made of two parts(Ring and bracket).
This is my opinion and I can`t prove it without some drawings or a parts catalog that show this! We should reach out to the USMC jeepers and try to find photos or other proof of it`s existence!"

I did ask a G503 friend as an expert on USMC Jeeps, Mark Tonmleson (USA), who replied seperately:

"Well, I believe I read in Lloyd's (White) books on the MB that the Canadian contract jeep Contract was based on the USMC contract the Navy had with Willys-Overland.
I confirmed by just looking at the list of parts the lift ring and bracket was an assembly (A-5061) which consisted of the Bracket (A-5221) and the Ring (A-5222) with the associated bolts, nuts and washers ( I checked and you have them correctly sized). There were four and nowhere does it mention in the 11 pages on the frame any type of backing plate for the brackets."

So, possibly, there were no backing plates, even if it is sensible to have them!

A good guide, but no confirmation!
