UK Royal Corps of Transport cap badge?

The Royal Corp of Transport came up as someones "guess" as to regiment, BASED ON WHAT THEY THINK ARE THE LETTERS "R.C.T." that she thinks show up in one of those photos, which is what the daughter is exploring now.
I'm sorry to post such iffy questions but I figured you or someone else in here would be quick to verify.

Hi Karmen;

I still don't know where "R.C.T." came from, but its not that or RASC (Royal Army Service Corps). I'd have to say, that from what I can make out, he served with the Corps of Royal Engineers (RE), judging by the cap badge visible in one photo and the equipment in the other. I've attached an image of the RE cap badge (1939-1945).
