....got some big hammers in the barn........
Original Chev parts do surface on Ebay and FB Marketplace....particularly the French PQ area parts postings....some what geographically limited and the asking price are more reasonable. Good job on the big turtle ........ would love to see the guy's face that does the safety for registration........ but I know you have an ace up your sleeve. Cheers

I have a WWII NOS Chev fuel pump assembly in the original box. It has a metal bowl and fuel pump lever. Part number is 1537579.

Bob,
It would appear that Chev CMPs started using fuel pumps with priming levers during 1943. Please see attached image from Spare parts list C15-03. It also appears that the fuel pump bowls were metal: https://www.lwdparts.com/product/fue...-ac-fuel-pump/ |

...found it in my later published April 44 C60 book
The funny dizzy was on a 1942 C15a........ it explains the funny rotational switch on the stomp starter that allowed the polarity to be changed each time the truck was started.....said innovation only lasted 40-42 on civilian vehicles. A bell housing from a civilian Chev 3 speed ( late 40s) has now been found that fits the 216/235 and will take a SM420 dirtectly bolting on....... it is a left hand clutch bell housing but will be modified by cutting a fork window on the right hand side and relocating the fulcrum bolt to an existing reinforced bulged in the RH side ( to be drilled and taped at 7/16)....obviously the bell housing was also meant for export....will be guided by Phil W. instructions who as done the mods in the past. Cheers
