I learned recently that those hooks are known as “snatch hooks”.
There were different types of these cables, but the one in your photo appears to be this, minus the teardrop-shaped link connecting the two cables: 765931500.429468public.jpg There was also a single version: 3294392_82262f7c9524876806f6cce990be7aab.jpeg (Pictures from the thread I linked to above.)
