I'm in search of all the park brake components for a C15A left wheel. I am assured the Ford one is the same. Please let me know if you have it.

All brake components on Chev and Ford are all the same....in fact all made by Ford, Best to refer to a parts manual to clearly identify what you are looking for....... good used parts should be easy to find.

Your best bet for those parts is to explore your Australian CMP nut social circle.
Any one who has worked on CMP usually has some old spare axles and those parts never really wear out and are usually thrown out in a spare box under the work bench..... EXCEPT for that little U shape lock clip and pin...... if they were removed carefully they can be re used,,,, they are hard to find new unless you deal with a patient heavy truck parts clerk who is knowledgeable on old brake systems....remember a Ford or Chev CMP axle has the same parts for the brakes...... all FORD parts. In a pinch you can get by making your own U Clips using a suitable flat washer and a bit of grinding, propane torch and hammering. International Postage cost would kill you unless you really live at the far end of a long remote country road. If you were Canada, I would say drop by I will give you the parts from my stack of spare axles. If you get the chance try to get the whole back plate assembly with all the loose parts....... same goes for brake drums, wheel nuts, etc....... the larger your network the easier it gets.... Good luck Bob C Some Aussie CMP "Compadre is likely to respond".......

I believe the part number for that U-clip is still recognized. It was used on cars right into the 2000s. I bought a pack of a hundred of them about a year back when I was working on a truck at the museum, but I'll quickly research and see if i can find the source.
Found it. Part number is 91a-2106. Prices vary with some dealers wanting $15 just for one. Here is a pack of 30 on ebay, but there will be lots of other sources: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/357450952585 If you look at the list of applications on the link I sent, it lists the various applications. In the interest of posterity, since the link will eventually disappear, here are the applications: 1980-1983 Ford Fairmont 1980 Ford Granada 1986-2007 Ford Taurus 1980-1997 Ford Thunderbird 1980-1983 Lincoln Mark VI 1980-1997 Mercury Cougar 1980-1991 Mercury Grand Marquis 1983-1986 Mercury Marquis 1986-2005 Mercury Sable 1980-1983 Mercury Zephy Also: 1939-96 Ford Truck, 1966-96 Ford Bronco, 1939-96 Ford Car Any Ford dealer will recognize that part number, but it may be cheaper to buy a complete hold down kit for a taurus from an aftermarket jobber. Depends if Ford's price of $12 is for one or a pack of many. Last edited by rob love; 19-01-26 at 20:49. |
