| crack repair

Dave, how bad is the crack??? Sump pan's can be easily repaired by brazing up the crack. We re-built a sump from an Aussie made 308 cu.in. V8 from a sports sedan that a conrod took a fair chunk out of. You may find the cost to repair it less than the postage of a replacment part. Rob |

hi rob well yes thats corect 90% of the time. i had a person hired to braze the crack. the bright person said ok that will be $80. i said ok. then he proceded to braze the crack, while it was still on the engine. well he blew the crap out of himself and i think "puffed" out the oil pan. i still drive the carrier but get about 5 miles a pint in fuel usage. i think the whole thing is toast but i could be wrong. my last resort is to take it off and smear a whole glob of vegemite on it. from what i hear that stuff will keep everything out. just kidding thanks dave

| Lost fuel

Sounds like your fuel is ending up in the sump. Perhaps a look at the fuel pump may solve your high fuel consumption. Or your exploding sumps................ Rob |
