Magnolias in Manitoba? Not likely. Did I say that? Crocuses, which strictly speaking aren't crocuses, but "pasque flowers" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasque_flower are those delicate, fuzzy little light purple flowers that only grow on virgin prairie.
The Japanese go out to admire the cherry blossoms this time of year - I go out to admire the crocuses.
