| Identity of 8th Hussars crew-Besanigo Ridge

Gentlemen: I am certain one of you wizards will be able to sort this out for me: In Dancock's D-DAY DODGERS, the author identifies one of the 8th Hussars tank crew trapped in the Besanigo River bed in early Sept/44 (Coriano Ridge fighting) as SERGEANT KEITH FRASER. Mark Zuehlke's book THE GOTHIC LINE names the same NCO as SERGEANT KEITH FISHER. I want to make certain that I correctly identify the sergeant, who was decorated for remaining with two other wounded Hussars until rescued by the Perths on 09 Sept/44. I was unable to find mention of this anecdote anywhere else. Would appreciate help with this. Cheers

If you look up the 8th Hussars on the RCAC web site you will find a listing of Gallantry Awards. There is a Sergeant Keith Herman Fisher (G197) who earned a Military Metal on the 4th of Sept. 1944. http://www.rcaca.org/includes/r-PLNBH.asp |

| The intrepid Sergeant Fisher-8th Hussars

Thanks for the help. I confess I had not thought of cross-referencing from award of MM. Good call.
