That gumbo is something else, and where I live it's the heaviest clay gumbo there is. Other areas of the prairies pale when compared to this area, but you get used to it.
When I took the C8 apart, I broke about a dozen bolts, and of these there are only three that I have to drill out.
Another observation on the frames: the C8 front axle is the same as the 2 ton. The half ton spindles are quite a bit smaller.
I looked at my HUP frame today. It looks the same as the C8 but it's made out of the same 1/8" material as the half ton. One would wonder why they went to the lighter frame on the newer 4X4.
