See the thread on the Thistlegorm.
Also saw some pics from a dive site on some of the shipwrecks in Darwin Harbour which showed carriers on the deck and scattered on the harbour floor. Must have been either the Meigs or the Mauna Loa

But I don't think they were designed to go under sea!
