First photo is of two Austin 10hp Utilities and the second photo is not a Tilly, but a Morris 12hp model Y, there were military ambulance versions, but this looks like a van.

What can you guys say about this wonderful photo that proves that gender is no barrier to getting automotive hands dirty? I assume that it's a Morris engine with SU carb?

Austin [10hp?]...my later father-in-law's best friend had one of these post-war, which he repainted silver.

What are these lovely ladies, doing driver training, saying? They had an eclectic mix of Wolseley, Austin cars & Tillies, Austin and Bedford ambulances, Bedford MW & OX, and Morris-Commercial C.2 dual-control vehicles to 'play' with.

this is "Austin 8AP military tourer" it is possible send me pictures of the silver one. The civilian 8Hp is similer as the military 8AP.

Given the size of the battery, as large as the engine you almost have to wonder if this is an early Hybrid. Wonder how far and how fast if you put it in 4th gear and hit the starter.

It took 6 years to finish this project. Time was an essential key, which I did not have. The last years a professional finished the restoration to a roadworthy vehicle. This year I hope to make it complete with some minor features, such as rifle clip etc.

How far are you with your restoration?

Your Tilly is also a beauty.

Mine does has a WD-number. It's only shown at the rear and driverside. John Simpson of the tilly Register was so kind to figure it out from the chassisnumber.

John Simpson is a good guy. I've been in touch with him several times, and he was kind enough to send me some Tilly Texts containing data I was seeking. I in turn sent him my Rootes wartime document.

I was lucky I could buy the complete Wheels&Tracks. But thanks very much for the offer.
The Tilly Register has a website, which I "webmaster". I receive often email about new found Tillys or questions. Some manuals are digital available on the sites about the Tillys.

I read the book of Mike Shackleton "Tilly Colours". In this book I found some pictures where Tillys only have two places where the WD number is painted (driverside and rear). I did consider painting it on both sides of the bonnet...

The Austin has a bridgeplate now also.
