| Tow Frame

Richard Army accos have towing D's similar to Blitz's so the brackets on the 2 ends of the v frame are a bit of a mistery , from what I could see in the picture if you used those brackets you would have to take off the D rings . However with out the brackets the 2 ends of the v frame would attach to the D's. Regards Jim s

| acco bits

wow, that looks like a box of goodies I think Jim is right, if the front dees were unbolted from an acco and this frame bolted in place, you would have an A frame for long distance towing... I bet hodgo over at AULRO forum can confirm this... I'd be interested in a set of chains for my Mk3 if you'd like to sell a pair? |

Thanks for the replies, here is another shot of the fixings. With attachments taken of at the pin (had not thought of that), and the pin could be used in the "D"s, but I imagine there would be some slop. Not sure what the bolt pattern of "D"s are either, are the bumpers themselves bolted from the front? Maybe they bolt on there? Been awhile since I had a good look at an ACCO so am unsure what the set up is. But I take it that it is definatley an ACCO "A" Frame (Until proven otherwise) Sam, I do sell a few of the chains at Corawa Swim In ($10.00 pr) if you know anyone coming down. I fear they would be somewhat expensive to mail. Now to try and work out how to post pics on the new setup Rich

Thanks for the pic Sam, Jim S is right, exactly the same as a blitz "D". A pair of chains weigh 1.5 kgs. Drive the Mk3 down and I'll give you a pair gratis!!!! Hooroo Rich.

How big is that A frame? Looks like the one for land rovers, but the mounts at the back are a mystery, could be the floor mounts to fit them to a wrecker land rover. If it is it would make it very rare as only 3 I know of still exist, and 2 of them are in bandiana. And to me it looks mighty similar. See pics on these pages http://www.remlr.com/bandi-yard.html http://www.remlr.com/lrprpics2a.html
