What's more amazing is that some folk accually buy and restore vehicles in that condition and worse. I once saw a vintage bus magazine from England showing restorations from these type of 'wrecks' !

Must be some truth in that saying about "Mad Dogs and Englishmen"!

Default Have seen it before

Hello Keith,

I was there about 20 years ago, we were able to salvage some parts from a Humber Heavy Utility and some parts for an Austin, there were also some dodge 1/2 ton Carryall's and Ambulances I believe. The most special vehicle we found was a GMC ACKWX-353 should be an ex pre war French contract diverted to the UK. I wonder how much is left of the vehicles, as they were almost in the same shape as you found them.

Green greetings

Hendrik van Oorspronk

PS.Niel the steeringbox from your C15TA came from this place, from a cab 11 or 12

Default same yard

I too visited this yard many years ago, at the time there were two 11 cab Ford quads there, both in awful condition, I understood that they were later recovered for restoration. But no idea where they went, I remember being struck at the ime how (relatively) well the canadian trucks had survived compaired to their US and UK contemparies, Great pics though, must dig mine out.. I also remember Morris bofors C9?? in very good condtion that had previousy been stored inside, seem to remember it was complete but for the gun...
