Looking through old threads about Blitz trailers. I'm looking for pics of one described to me over the phone today.
Described as being ex council from the 1940s-1950s but possibly ex army. Blitz rims/tyres (size unknown), heavy duty, trailer around 6x4 size or a touch bigger, tipping, and looking like a roman chariot. Ring any bells to anyone? Does anyone have photos of the trailers built post war described by Jim earlier in this thread? ryan

The chariot description is the giveaway, do an image search for that. Civil Defence and fire service use, not uncommon, nice unit, but normally found behind Austin K2 Fire Tenders I think, here you go;

Thank guys for the replies.
Gordon, interesting trailer, you could be on the money. hopefully I'll get up there to see it in the next few weeks. Lang, thanks, he was sure it was fitted with Blitz rims and was tipping too. He did say it was in good nic apart from a rotted floor.

Another one currently on E-bay.
Wheels and hubs look the type we're talking about here, while the floor pan looks like it has openings for Sidevalve V8 exhaust and drain holes?? Maybe a Generator/Compressor/Welder?? Looks to have lots of POL can brackets around the sides. Last edited by Tony Smith; 13-01-13 at 09:39. |
